After much anticipation its done and what a weekend it was!
Firstly we would like to thank everyone who came for such fantastic sportsmanship, team work and bringing an amazing atmosphere.
The games were hard fought and in the end the marshals all ended up playing as the gameplay was that honest and good there just wasn’t high vis’s needed. New recruits and new players to site all felt the community that Alpha breeds and from the sounds of it we’ve got even more players wanting to get involved.
It was fantastic to have everyone chatting and laughing over the Saturday evening with the games and social side and though hard fought the mini games were taken in the spirit they were meant with a lot of fun and laughs along the way.
We played
TTT – trouble in terrorist town which was a real hit. The game is basically about lying to each other and lots did this with great fever. The winner, Anthony Hesketh, which we based on who was playing this in the spirit of the game or was the best liar actually won due to a game where he spent 75% of it trying to kill a another terrorist who he should be working with subtlety without them knowing as he’d forgotten who the other terrorists were. There were a lot of laughs and friends giving each other hell as they walked away from this one!
A Battle royal variant – Now this had us all laughing! When we were preparing before the game started someone even appeared with a 2m long sword to give them better odds before finding anything that actually shoots. Everyone had to go out and either try and melee their opponents till they were last left alive or find bands which would enable their pistol to be used or if 2 found their rifle. Teams worked together only to stab each other in the back or even had people find riot shields and end up running after people who only had knives screaming in glee.
1 VS 1 pistol comp – Won by Matt Steadman this was hard fought! Weadded a few additional rules this year and by the end to speed things a long added a Greg with a riot shield to chase the players screaming. But Matt kept his cool which secured him the win through the rounds. The players who lost their cool when their mags ran out or even those that grabbed knives and ran at their opponents really made this worth a watch.
2 vs 2 doubles comp – Our raining champion Tommy returned with a new partner to try and secure himself doubles 2 years on the trott and after a lot of effort and skill he managed to pip all comers and secure himself another doubles win for the second year on the trot. James running out of ammo and meleeing a player on the floor while they wide eyed him in fear really secured the last match as a good way to end the doubles matches.
We even set a run up in the CQB with the attack sense targets to have a winner for that! You had 2 runs where the second was timed and you were deducted points based off shooting any green hostages as you went around. EVERYONE attempted this even our resident chef Tony (usually seen in the Mess tin) and everyone’s feedback was fantastic for this.
Everyone that took part did amazingly and it was great to see it all done with such high spirits.
Our next game day is the 28th which is really hotting up now! We’re currently working on setting up games that include use of thew attack sense targets which should add an interesting twist to games through the day.
Also the next blog is going to be Milsim related so watch this space to hear where we are going and how we prep/get ready and even train in some cases.
The Dates for the next social is also up so book on to get involved!
